Two routes to insight. A live dashboard answering the everyday questions — who's overdue, who's ready to file, what's coming up this week — and one-click CSV export of any view, so you can pivot, filter, and feed your numbers into whatever tool your firm already runs.
Open Missing Information and the first thing you see is the answer to four questions: how many active clients you have, how many periods are overdue against statutory deadlines, how many missing items are outstanding across the firm, and how many engagements are ready to file with nothing missing. Live. Updated the moment a status changes.
Every list of items in Missing Information has an "Export CSV" button. Outstanding items per client. All clients overdue for VAT. Items resolved this month. Whatever you're looking at, you can drop it into Excel in two clicks. No "request a report and wait", no API to wire up — just a download link.
The CSV is structured for spreadsheet work: columns named cleanly, dates in ISO format, statuses as readable text. Pivot it in Excel. Drop it into Google Sheets. Feed it to Power BI. Hand it to your accountant for the firm's own AML returns.
Need to show a client (or your professional indemnity insurer, or a tribunal) that you chased on time and they didn't respond? Every status change, chase sent, file uploaded, item resolved — all logged with timestamps and who did it. Pull the audit log for any client and you've got a defensible timeline. No PDF generation, no formatting, just real records.
For now, Missing Information delivers numerical KPIs on the dashboard and clean CSV out of every list — no pie charts or trend graphs built in. We took this stance deliberately: most firms already have reporting they trust (Power BI, Excel templates, the dashboards inside Xero or QuickBooks). Adding a parallel reporting layer just for missing-info data would mean two places to look and two sets of numbers to reconcile.
If you need richer visual reports — month-on-month chase response rates, average time-to-resolution per service, staff-level resolution velocity — pull the CSV and chart it in your existing reporting tool. Or contact us about the API roadmap.

It tracks every piece of missing information your clients owe you across every UK accountancy service — Accounts, VAT, PAYE, Self Assessment and MTD ITSA. It gives you a daily chase queue with pre-built emails, lets clients upload documents through a secure portal, and shows your team what's ready to work on. It replaces spreadsheets, scattered email threads and Post-it notes with one auditable workflow. Fully-automated chase emails on a scheduled cadence are on the roadmap for later in 2026.
Yes. Missing Information sits alongside Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent and Sage. We don't replace your accounting software — we handle the missing-info chasing layer above it. Direct sync with Xero is available now; QuickBooks and FreeAgent integrations are on our roadmap. We also support Zapier webhooks for custom flows.

Bulk-import your client list (we accept pipe-delimited, CSV, or Xero export), assign staff, set service templates, and the system is running. Truetax onboarded 88 clients in an afternoon. The Firm and Scale plans include a guided onboarding call.

Across 88 clients at Truetax, portal adoption hit 92% within two weeks. For the remaining 8%, you can still operate by email or phone — Missing Information tracks both.
